Live class policy
Reservations and payment
A reservation covers one household on one connection. After you request a seat I'll confirm by email with a payment link; your seat is held for 48 hours until payment is made. Prices are in US dollars.
Cancelling or changing your reservation
- More than 72 hours before class: full refund, or move to any future class.
- Within 72 hours of class: no refund, but your payment becomes a credit for any future class within twelve months.
- Missed the class: you still receive the recipe, notes, and the two-week recording.
If I cancel
Each class needs at least two households to run; I'd rather teach a small room than cancel on you. If it hasn't reached that two days before, or if I'm ill or the kitchen loses power, I'll email you with the choice of a full refund or a seat in the next class. I'll never cancel inside 24 hours except for an emergency, and then it's a full refund.
Recordings
Classes are recorded so you can watch again. Recordings are shared only with paid households and are available for two weeks. If you'd prefer not to appear, keep your camera off; your voice and chat questions may still be included.
Kitchen safety
You're cooking in your own kitchen with hot pans, sharp knives, and open flame, and you're responsible for your own safety and your guests'. I'll call out the risky moments, but please cook within your comfort.
Allergies and dietary needs
Tell me when you reserve and I'll plan a substitution. Recipes may be adapted but I can't guarantee any dish is free of a given allergen in your kitchen.
Digital guides
Guides are PDF downloads for your personal use. Because they're delivered instantly, they aren't refundable once downloaded, unless the file is defective, in which case I'll fix it or refund you. If you're unsure whether a guide is right for you, write to me first. Please don't share or resell the files.
Privacy
When you join the email list, reserve a seat, or send a message, I collect the information you type, which is usually your name and email address, and I use it to send you what you asked for: the guide, class details, and an occasional email when a class opens, no more than once a week. I don't sell or rent your information.
Email delivery and payments are handled by third-party providers who store your details on my behalf and are bound by their own privacy terms. You can unsubscribe from the list with one click at the bottom of any email, and you can ask me to delete your information at any time.

Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site, mainly on the Essentials page, are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, I may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. The Fifth Season is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. I may also link to brands' own affiliate programs.
I only recommend tools I own or have cooked with at length, and I'd recommend them the same way if the links paid nothing. No one pays to appear on the list, and I don't accept free products in exchange for placement.
